Image didn't generate
Don't worry, a failed image never costs a Spark. Here is what you can do to fix it.
First, the good news: if an image fails to generate, you are not charged a Spark. Your balance is safe, and you can try again for free.
How to fix the issue:
- Try one more time — Sometimes it's just a temporary network hiccup. A second tap often does the trick.
- Change the wording — If it keeps failing on the exact same scene, the description probably triggered a safety filter. Try rewording the action or removing any sensitive details.
- Simplify the scene — If a scene has too many complex details, the generator might time out. Keep it simple!
- Give it a few seconds — There is a short cooldown between generating images. If you just successfully made one and the button seems unresponsive, wait a moment and try again.
Still not working? If images are failing constantly across completely different stories, something might be wrong on our end. Please email us at [email protected] with the name of your story and what you were trying to generate.
Note: Images naturally take longer to appear than text. Waiting 10–30 seconds for a picture is completely normal.
Frequently asked questions
Sparks balance, safety filters, and generation times.
Did I lose a Spark when it failed?
No. Sparks are only deducted when an image is successfully created. If you see an error message, your balance remains completely untouched.
Why did the generation fail?
Usually for one of two reasons: either a brief network issue interrupted the process, or a word in the scene triggered a safety filter. Rewording the scene slightly fixes the vast majority of these errors.
I tried again, but I'm getting the same error.
If you try multiple times on the exact same text and it keeps failing, it's definitely hitting a safety filter. The text generator and the image generator have different rules. Try rewording the scene to bypass the block.
Why does it take so long even when it works?
Creating a unique, high-quality image from scratch takes a lot of processing power. It usually takes 10–30 seconds. Your story text will always appear first, and the image will load right behind it.
