Playing with friends
How to invite players, let them in, and manage your connection.
Myriad Paths is even better with friends. You can share the same world, write a story together, and split the adventure.
Since all game rooms are private (meaning people can only join if someone lets them in), this guide explains how to invite your friends, how the waiting lobby works, who is in charge, and how to switch devices smoothly.
How to invite friends
Just copy the room URL and send it to them.
We keep things simple: there are no special invite codes or friend requests.
To invite someone, just copy the URL from your browser's address bar and send it to them in Discord, Telegram, or any other chat. When they click the link, they'll arrive at the "door" of your room.
Because rooms are private, clicking the link won't drop a stranger straight into your story — someone inside the room still needs to open the door for them.
The lobby & knocking
New players knock to enter; approved members walk right in.
When new players open your link, they enter a waiting room (the lobby) and knock. Anyone who is already inside the game will see a notification at the top of the chat and can either Accept or Decline the request.
A few things worth knowing:
- Members skip the lobby. Once you let someone in, they become a trusted member of that world. Next time, they can walk straight in without knocking.
- Knocks only show up in-game. We don't send push notifications or emails. So, if your room is completely empty, there is no one to open the door. The guest will just have to try again later when someone is online.
- The lobby shows the queue. Guests can see how many people are waiting with them and can leave the lobby anytime if they don't want to wait.
Who is in charge?
There are no admins — everyone shares the same rights.
In Myriad Paths, everyone is equal. There are no "Host" or "Admin" roles.
Anyone who has been granted access to the room can let new players in. There is no sole owner, nobody can kick other players out, and you can't "close" the room. If you have access, you have all the permissions.
Switching devices & reconnecting
You can easily switch between your phone and PC without losing progress.
You can only have one active session per account at a time. If you open the game in a new tab or switch from your PC to your phone, you'll see a "session replaced" notice. Just tap Reconnect here to move your game to your current screen. This prevents you from accidentally playing in two places at once.
Don't worry about bad internet or refreshing the page. Your progress is always safe, and you will instantly reconnect right where you left off. The only thing you might lose is a voice message if your connection drops while you are holding the mic.
